Anita Atwal
Director

Anita is an experienced labour, employment and human rights lawyer, workplace investigator and mediator. She has a keen interest in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion issues as they relate to legal practice. Anita acts for unions, employers and employees. She also has significant experience in governance issues. Anita brings a trauma informed and culturally competent approach to the practice of law and is a strong believer in empowering individuals and organizations with the tools to make the right decisions. Anita chairs SABABC’s Professional Development Committee and serves on the Fall Conference Committee.

Aman Bindra
Treasurer and Director

Aman is a real estate, lending, and corporate lawyer at KSW Lawyers in Surrey. He obtained his JD from the University of British Columbia. Aman is also an Instructor of real estate and mortgage law at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Aman co-chairs SABABC’s Social Committee.

Hardeep S. Gill
President and Director

Hardeep is a Partner at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP specializing in tax and corporate commercial law. Hardeep received his J.D. at the University of British Columbia Law School in 2014.

Gagan Khosa
Director

Gagan is an associate at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP specializing in a wide variety of complex, multi-go liability, banking, insurance, construction, aviation and commercial litigation matters. He obtained his JD from Thompson Rivers University. Gagan is also a Sessional Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley and has a passion for social justice and is an advocate for diversity, equity, and opportunity. Gagan co-chairs SABABC’s Social Committee.

 

Manroop K. Ghuman
Secretary and Director

Manroop Ghuman is In-House Legal Counsel at Vancity Credit Union. Manroop obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy and her B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia. Manroop co-chairs SABABC’s Membership and Outreach Committee and serves on the Fall Conference Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family and reading a good book.

Harleen Randhawa
Director

Harleen is a lawyer in the litigation group at Owen Bird Law Corporation. She obtained her J.D. and M.B.A. at the University of Victoria, and her B.Com (Hons.) from the University of British Columbia. Harleen co-chairs SABABC’s Membership and Outreach Committee and serves on the Fall Conference Committee. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

 

Navaneeth Ravichandran
Director

Navaneeth is a securities lawyer at McMillan LLP. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Victoria, and his B.A. from the University of British Columbia. Navaneeth co-chairs the Student Initiatives and Young Lawyers Committee and serves on the Fall Conference Committee. Away from the office, Navaneeth enjoys watching sports and trying new restaurants.

Jessie K. Sunner
President-Elect and Director

Jessie is In-House Legal Counsel for the Hospital Employees’ Union, where she specializes in labour, employment, and human rights law. Jessie obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary and her B.A. in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. Jessie chairs SABABC’s Advocacy Committee and serves on the Fall Conference Committee.

Sutheeksan (Dixon) Sunthoram
Director

Sutheeksan is Legal Counsel, North America for Sedgman, a mining infrastructure company headquartered in Australia. Before joining Sedgman, Sutheeksan was a projects lawyer within the energy and natural resources sector at a large national firm. Sutheeksan obtained his J.D. from Queen’s University and his B.A. from the University of British Columbia. On weekends, Sutheeksan loves to spend time with his family and can be found walking or biking along the seawall.
