Letter to BC Courts and Tribunals: Pronunciation of Names in Proceedings

On February 2, the Canadian Bar Association of British Columbia, the South Asian Bar Association of British Columbia and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC delivered a submission to B.C. courts and tribunals offering best practices to ensure all people who appear before courts and tribunals have their names pronounced correctly.

Implementing these practices would improve the experience of Indigenous and racialized people and send a message that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity.
